BACOLOD CITY, Negros Occidental, Philippines – Police in the northern Negros town of Toboso continue to probe the curious case of a farmer who was slain by killers whom he served and ate breakfast with but have yet to know if he is indeed a former rebel.
Over in the south, a man hacked his neighbor dead over a still unknown cause.

Town police chief, Captain Hancel P. Lumandaz said they are stil probing the reason behind the killing.
He added what they know as of now is that Roquero has no family in Negros while Estanda once faced a complaint for a scandalous act.
He refused to talk to police about the crime.
Meanwhile, Toboso police probers continue to dig into the killing of Bienvenido Montejar, aged 62 who was shot dead by killers who had breakfast with him inside his home.
Police Lieutenant Reneboy Eduardo of Toboso PNP said they continue to investigate the motive of the killing and have yet to confirm if the victim was indeed a rebel returnee.
Police found .45 caliber and 5.56mm spent shells at the crime scene.
