10 SEPTEMBER 2026 – BACOLOD CITY, NEGROS OCCIDENTAL. Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Negros Occidental Provincial Statistical Office actively took part in the 3rd Quarter 2026 Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED), reaffirming its commitment to strengthening disaster preparedness and promoting a culture of safety among its employees and clients.
During the drill, PSA personnel along with clients at the Civil Registration Service (CRS) Outlet and National ID registration area, promptly carried out the “Duck, Cover, and Hold” procedure before proceeding to the designated assembly areas in an organized and orderly manner. The activity provided an opportunity for employees and clients to practice appropriate safety measures and become more familiar with established evacuation procedures.
The conduct of the quarterly earthquake drill also served as a practical exercise in assessing the office’s emergency response protocols. It allowed personnel to reinforce coordination, communication, evacuation procedures, and other safety measures that are essential in ensuring an effective response in the event of an actual earthquake.
Through its continued participation in the NSED and other disaster preparedness initiatives, the PSA Negros Occidental Provincial Statistical Office remains steadfast in promoting awareness, preparedness, and resilience among its workforce and the public. These efforts underscore the agency’s commitment to maintaining a safe workplace and helping build communities that are better prepared to respond to emergencies and disasters.
