BACOLOD CITY, Negros Occidental, Philippines – Three men, two of them teens aged 17 and 19, hanged themselves over love and money problems in three cities here.
“It’s okay, it’s just a small problem,” the wife of a man, 27, in Himamaylan City who left for home after having an argument with his wife at their mini-store in San Antonio village.
His wife told police probers that was what his husband told him before he went home in the morning yesterday, 24 August 2022.
She also said her husband had money problems over their livestock business.
When the wife and a sister got home, they saw the victim already hanging from the ceiling.
They rushed him to a hospital where a doctor declared him dead upon arriving.
In the neighboring city of Bago, a resident of Kabankalan, 19,was found lifeless by his sister hanging from the ceiling with a nylon rope around his neck.
Police said the victim broke up with his girlfriend a few weeks ago but regretted what he did and sought a reconciliation.
She refused.
Another teen, 17, was also found dead in the seaside village of Chambery in Manapla town.
Police said he was found by his mother hanging from the ceiling of their house around 4am today, 25 August 2022, and was rushed to a hospital where a doctor declared him dead upon arriving.
The police blotter included a portion that reads “Motive: Depression (Lovelife)” and also said that a note was recovered by probers.
