BACOLOD CITY, Negros Occidental, Philippines – Police are still. probing a failed abduction in the northern Negros town of Manapla early in the evening yesterday, 31 July 2022.
William Chua Jr. reported to police he was walking home around 6:30pm after playing basketball at the town plaza when five persons wearing bonnets grabbed and handcuffed him along Gallo Street in 1B village.
The suspects then attempted to push Chua inside a black sport utility vehicle (SUV) but failed.

Police said Chua reported the incident himself at the station after he escaped the kidnappers.
The motive behind the reported failed kidnapping remains unknown.
