BACOLOD CITY, Negros Occidental – An alleged granddad-turned-sex-fiend was nabbed by police in Kabankalan City after he was ordered arrested by a judge for the alleged rape of his grandchild, 8, in an upland village of the southern Negros Occidental city.
Kabankalan Police chief prober, Master Sergeant Cynthia Fuentes, told DNX the suspect (whose name is being withheld by DNX) allegedly raped the victim twice, first in 2023, and a second time just last March, this year.
The incidents reportedly happened in the suspect’s house in Magballo, a more than two-hour drive south from here.
Fuentes added that the rape happened in the house of Barangyao in the upland village of Magballo in Kabankalan City.
Police served an arrest warrant to Barangyao on 7 May 2024, in the morning at Kabankalan Custodial Facility.
The suspect is now detained at the Kabankalan police custodial facility.
