PAMPLONA, Negros Oriental, Philippines – Some of the gunmen who assaulted the residential compound of sitting provincial Governor Roel Degamo could have been wounded in the attack that left Degamo and five others dead.
Lieutenant Colonel Kym Lopez, information officer of the provincial police here said bloodstains were found inside the Montero SUV, one of the cars left by the highway in Kansumalig village in Bayawan City.
Aside from the Montero, the joint hot pursuit team of the Bayawan Police and the Special Action Force also found a Pajero and an Isuzu pick.
According to the witnesses, around 10 armed men were seen leaving the vehicle in the area.
