BACOLOD CITY, Negros Occidental, Philippines – Pamplona town Mayor Janice Degamo, wife of Negros Oriental Governor Roel Degamo calls for justice on her husband’s assassination earlier this morning 4 March 2023 inside their home in San Isidro, Municipality of Pamplona, Negros Oriental.
The mayor, in her video statement posted in ‘Governor Roel Ragay Degamo’ Facebook page, said the governor was proclaimed dead 11:41 this morning, two hours after he was shot by suspects wearing army and navy uniforms.
Janice said her husband died along with five others who were there at their house asking for help.
Negros Oriental Police Provincial Office spokesperson Lieutenant Colonel Kym Lopez said Degamo was giving assistance to 4PS Beneficiaries together with some Department heads of the province when the incident happened.
A witness, according to Lopez, saw six persons wearing camouflage shirts onboard two SUVs after the shooting.
