Cadiz City Police station Chief Lieutenant Colonel Gil John Despi said it has yet to be confirmed if the victim was raped after she was stabbed at least 11 times, several on her face.

Despi added it could have only been assumed she was raped since her body was found almost naked.

Several local radio stations have reported the victim was raped after she was killed but Despi said this has not yet been proven through a post mortem examination.

Police have already filed a charge for murder against Allan Tengco, 48, in whose house the suspected murder weapon was found.

Probers found a bloodied kitchen knife from the house of Tengco who was living alone near the bank of the river.

Despi said the victim took a short cut that passes through the suspect’s house.

He added Tengco admitted to the crime but police could not use the testimony against him as it was made without a lawyer of his choice.
