BACOLOD CITY, Negros Occidental, Philippines – Police probing the murder of businessman and Capitol consultant Mariano Antonio Cui III appear headed for a fresh discovery in their ongoing investigation after a security guard provided details for a facial composite sketch that could lead to the identification of one of those involved in the case.
Provincial police information officer, Lt. Abegail Donasco told DNX the San Carlos City Police submitted the request for a composite facial sketch that could lead to the identification of one of those involved in the mysterious murder.
She added the composite sketch will be based on the testimony of one of the guards who saw a person break off a tree branch near the entrance of Emerald Arcade building where Cui was shot early in the evening of 12 April.
The tree is near the spot to the right side of the building where two vans believed to have been used by the killers, were parked.
It is initially believed the the tree branch was broken to reveal a clear line of sight for the killer to Cui as he was about to enter his car.
San Carlos police information officer, Lt. Roby Aurita told DNX they submitted the request to the provincial crime laboratory that, in turn, forwarded their request to the regional crime laboratory.
The regional crime laboratory is expected to send a cartographer who will do the sketch.
