BACOLOD CITY, Negros Occidental, Philippines – Police nabbed three alleged high-value targets, one a reported member of the lone drug group still operating here, as the city police chief reported the seizure of P8 million in suspected meth, the biggest haul so far in the government’s continuing anti-drug campaign.
The late evening bust on 3 August 2023 in the crowded community of Kabulakan Uno in the coastal village of Singcang Airport is the largest haul by far reported under sitting Mayor Alfredo Abelardo “Albee” Benitez and since Colonel Noel Aliño took over as city director of the local police.
Aliño sent a spot report to DNX identifying the suspected peddlers as Gycelle Bonagua, 31, a woman who uses the aliases Rolly and Alog who hails from Angeles City in Pampanga province.
Two men were also nabbed, Michael Ramos alias Mape, 43, and Rizald Lapag alias Junjun, who lives in Purok Saylan, Barangay 2 here.
Lapag, like Bonagua, is from Luzon and was identified as from Antipolo, Rizal.
Both have been living temporarily in Singcang Airport but Aliño did not give details as to how long.
Aliño and other police officers handling the case cannot be reached as of now.
All have not been returning calls or text messages from DNX as this story went to press.
