Armed men enter village, cause shootout with guards

Armed men entered a village early morning today, wounding a security guard on duty, police reports revealed.

The incident happened early today, at Lumina Subdivision, Barangay Vista Alegre in this city.

The injured was identified as David Albarquez, 40, a resident of Purok Narrang, Barangay Malingin, Bago City; while another security guard named Alddy Granton, 33, a resident of Purok Pedring, Barangay Estefania Bacolod City, was allegedly handtied by four armed unidentified persons wearing bonnet.

initial police investigation revealed the unidentified persons entered the back portion of the subdivision and allegedly took the service firearm .38 caliber revolver, as well as the radio handset and wallet of Granton.

Police said suspects fired their guns first causing other security guards to shoot back.

Albarquez was hit on his left foot during the ensuing shootout.

The police are still conducting a follow-up operation for the arrest of the suspects.
