BACOLOD CITY, Negros Occidental, Philippines – At least P150,000 in cash was carted away by robbers in two southern Negros towns as the economy slows down at the start of the dead season.

Reports from Camp Alfredo Montelibano Sr. said two robbers took the bag of Roselyn Robles Gangoso, 50, at gunpoint while the victim was on her way home in Hinigaran town, around 50 kilometers south from here.

One of the robbers also threatened and hit her with a firearm, the report added.

Further south, in Cauayan, salesman MCHommer Ragay Undang and his driver, Ramon Silorio lost close to P30,000 to two robbers.

They were supposed to collect payment from and deliver cigarettes to Palapas Store in Caliling village when the two robbers arrived on a motorcycle.

The one who had a gun then took the money from Undang’s pockets and Silorio’s backpack before fleeing.
