BACOLOD CITY – Policemen here a nabbed a man this morning today, 11 December, for what could be a harmless hobby and recreation: gardening.
Only that he was not growing ornamentals, herbs or vegetables but marijuana.
Local police spokesman Ariel Pico, in a brief sent DNX, identified the suspected grower as Albert Pescador Lopez, 47, who was arrested at his residence in Doña Juliana Subdivision after his mother and sister reported him to Police Station 6.
Operatives recovered four pots containing 14 suspected grown marijuana plants, three bottles containing marijuana stalks, and one plastic bag of marijuana leaves and an improvised pipe.
Philippine laws classify marijuana growing, possession, and use as illegal.
