BACOLOD CITY, Negros Occidental, Philippines – Police in the southern Negros Occidental town of Cauayan has detained a gunowner who claimed his weapon was used by his friend who played Russian roulette and killed himself Sunday.
Camp Montelibano spokesperson Judesses Catalogo told DNX Benjie Chavez, 28, will also be subjected to a paraffin test after police in the town 125 kilometers south of here.
Catalogo said Chavez will be checked for powder burns that could indicate if he has fired a gun after probers found out that he hid the revolver that was used by Jeemo Redimo, 37.
It was found by police in a drainage Canal inside his house where Redimo also died.
Chavez had claimed to police that Redimo suddenly grabbed the gun tucked on his waist and pointed it to his head and pulled the trigger.
Redimo died where he fell inside the house of Chavez.
