BACOLOD CITY, Negros Occidental, Philippines – The Provincial Health Office (PHO) has declared four towns in Negros Occidental as coronavirus disease (Covid-19) free.

Based on the record of PHO, the towns of Pulupandan, Don Salvador Benedico, Moises Padilla and Calatrava have no recorded Covid-19 cases for the past weeks.

Cadiz City logged the most number of cases for the last two weeks with 109, San Carlos came next with 58, Kabankalan 45, Victorias 38 and Silay 32.

However, Cadiz City Mayor Salvador “Bading” Escalante earlier denied the reports of PHO stating that the city has the most number of active cases in the province.

He said there are discrepancies with the records of the PHO and their city health office’s data.

Meanwhile, Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson told the local government units (LGUs) to submit daily reports of Covid-19 cases to the province to avoid differences on data.

The governor said it would be easier for PHO to release records of Covid-19 cases if the LGUs submit their daily report of recovered patients.
