BACOLOD CITY, Negros Occidental, Philippines – The Capitol employees will ask for reconsideration of giving them extra bonus this Christmas.
Progressive Alliance of Capitol Employees (PACE) President Renelo Lastierre told DNX that he had an initial talk with Provincial Administrator Atty. Rayfrando Diaz to appeal that they may be given extra bonus this year.
Lastierre said they also have pending proposals for other benefits such as the Collective Negotiation Agreement Incentive and Productivity Enhancement Incentive.
The “extra bonus” is based on Incentive Benefits for Exemplary Services which is given to local government units having an exemplary achievement in the national or local level.
Last year, the Capitol employees received an extra bonus of P60,000, aside from the 13th and 14th month pay given every month of May and November of the year.
Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson earlier said the capitol employees will not receive extra bonus aside from the 14th month pay this Christmas because the province spent a lot for the coronavirus disease (Covid-19) pandemic.
“We understand the effects of the pandemic to our province and to the whole country but the employees are also hoping that we will be given our extra bonus on top of the benefits mandated by the law,” said Lastierre.
Lastierre added they will seek the help of the Sangguniang Panlalawigan to give their additional bonus.
