The girls reportedly had a 3-2 and 10-0 win in their games against the Latin America and East Coast teams, respectively.
The softball team, headed by Provincial Government Sports head, Anthony Carlo Agustin, represented the Philippines and the Asia Pacific region in the competition.
According to the press release, the team’s pitcher, Joy Alpitche was a force to reckon with as she exhibited her power-packed pitch in the games that amazed their opponents and spectators.
Alpitche is from the southernmost town of Hinobaan.
The victory in the second game was unexpected as the team only took a 30-minute break after winning the first game.
The team was backed by Negros Occidental Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson who helped in sending them to compete in Delaware.
