Mayor Miranda vows to sue suspects in theft of Vice-Mayor’s phones

BACOLOD CITY, Negros Occidental, Philippines – “Not on my watch! Indi ini pwedi sa Administrasyon Miranda (This is not allowed under the Miranda administration).”

Kabankalan City Mayor Benjie Miranda swore to file charges against the three suspects responsible for the theft of the City Vice Mayor Miguel Zayco’s smartphones, a press statement today from Miranda’s publicist said today, 4 August 2022.

The suspects who were identified as Rose Linao, Wowie Uy, and Melvin Cosio, all in their 30s, were reportedly caught after allegedly stealing Zayco’s iPhone 13 Pro Max and Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra phones during the celebration of the city’s Charter Day on August 2.

Miranda said this kind of incident would not happen again as he would make sure that this crime would not be dealt leniently with.

Miranda also emphasized that one of the objectives in his 12-point agenda is strengthening peace and order through expanding police capacity and enforcing a stricter implementation of the law.
