BACOLOD CITY, Negros Occidental, Philippines – The series of drug-related killing here has given rise to the emergence of new illegal drug traders, an indication that competition among syndicates involved in underground trade is “getting stiffer,” a ranking police officer here told DNX.
Local spokesman Lt. Col. Ariel Pico revealed this after the arrest of Arthuro Geronimo alias Jojo, 36, in the sub-village of Lampirong, Village 2 that led to a haul of at least P2 million in estimated worth of alleged shabu.
Anti-drug operatives of Station 2 led by Police Major Sherlock Gabana arrested Geronimo in a buy-bust operation around 11am Thursday.
Geronimo, a resident of Singcang Airport village about five kilometers away, has been placed under the High-Value Individual list of Station 2 months before his arrest, case prober Edmer Vasquez, a corporal, told DNX.
Police seized an estimated 102 grams of suspected meth inside a plastic pack commonly known here as an agogo wrapper.
