Mass testing partial results out, 331 from Bacolod positive so far

BACOLOD CITY, Negros Occidental, Philippines – A Capitol executive has released the partial results for the “timeout weekend” mass testing for 10,000 individuals led by both Capitol and City Hall from 27 until the end of August 2020.

Provincial administrator Rayfrando Diaz told DNX out of the 1,401 samples sent from the city to laboratories in Cebu and Silay cities, 331 Bacolod residents tested positive.

The samples are part of those taken from 4,384 Bacolod residents who were swabbed for RT-PCR tests from 27 to 29 August 2020.

The laboratory results came from the Teresita Locsin Jalandoni provincial hospital based in Silay City and the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Sub-National Laboratory in Cebu City.

Diaz said the results from the two testing centers showed 163 were positive yesterday out of the 1,159  samples from Bacolod sent to Cebu while 57 were positive out of the 105 sent to Silay.

Today, out of the 143 positive results from samples sent to Teresita, 111 were from Bacolod.

More results from both laboratories are expected today.
