BACOLOD CITY, Negros Occidental, Philippines – Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson and at least 16 other staff of his office are now under self-isolation after a utility worker was found positive just this morning, Capitol spokesperson Charina Tan told DNX.
Lacson’s office was also closed for disinfection, Tan, who is also in isolation, added.
The governor and his staff are expected to be swabbed for an RT-PCR test “anytime,” Tan said.
Lacson is the second top official in the province to self-isolate.
City Vice-Mayor El Cid Familiaran who chairs the local inter-agency task force had earlier disclosed to the press that he had gone under isolation after he and his family were swabbed for RT-PCR tests.
Today is Familiaran’s second day in isolation.
