Killers strike in Moises Padilla, shoot tanod dead as son, 6, watches

BACOLOD CITY, Negros Occidental, Philippines – Still unknown killers struck as night fell yesterday, 8 March 2023, in the central Negros town of Moises Padilla, killing a tanod or village watchman who was driving a motorcycle with his son, a child aged six, when they were attacked.

Police said Marvin Flores Caramihan, 50, fell dead on the spot where the killers ambushed him and his son in the sub-village of Tibobong in Quentin Remo.

It was around 6:30pm of 28 March 2023 in Moises Padilla town when the killers struck.

Police are still probing the case.

Early in the morning of that day, around 4:30am, Rex Libertino Flor was arrested by the Himamaylan Police for alleged possession of illegal drugs and firearms.

The police conducted a buy-bust operation that resulted in the confiscation of four plastic bags of suspected shabu, a .38 caliber revolver, and six live rounds.

The estimated street value of the confiscated drugs was Php 17,000.

Meanwhile, the Tracker Team of the Bago Police arrested Romeo Artesola Alpere Jr in Purok Riverside, Brgy. Tabunan for three counts of statutory rape

The arrest was ordered by the presiding judge of Regional Trial Court Branch 62 in Bago City.
