I extend my deepest sympathy to the family, friends, and all who have loved
Atty. Simplicio “Sammy” Palanca.
It is often said that we must live with the singular purpose of making this world better than when we found it.
In his lifetime, Atty. Palanca envisioned great things and strove to see them to fruition.
He believed that his beloved city of Bacolod deserved much more.
He went great lengths to show others it was possible. As founder and chairman
of the Bacolod Real Estate Development Corporation (Bredco), he helped open
the city to opportunities, giving fellow Bacolodnons the avenue to pursue them.
He has been regarded by many for his sheer persistence, his strong will,
and for thinking forward — as a man of fi rsts. “the old man by the sea,” his eyes directed at the horizon, his pad paper filled with goals to aspire for and
how to reach them.
As you all remember him, may you take inspiration from his determination,
generosity, and his faith in the possibilities of a better tomorrow.
