The ABANSE NEGRENSE Beach Volleyball Tournament (South Eliminations) kicked off at the Municipality of Hinoba-an last November 10-11, 2022. The ladies from the Himamaylan A team secured their spot for the next round after leading the 16-under-girls and 21-under-women categories of the South Districts eliminations.
The Municipality of Pontevedra and the City of Bacolod ranked second and third in the 16-under-girls and 21-under-women categories. The Municipality of Candoni ranked fourth in the 16-under-girls, while Sipalay City was the fourth placer in the 21-under-women category.
Bago City took the lead in the 16-under-boys category. Sipalay City, Himamaylan, and Pontevedra ranked second, third, and fourth places in the same category, respectively.
With the support of Hinoba-an Mayor Daph Anthony V. Reliquias, Sports Coordinator Inno Paul Layda, SB Member Jason T. Tupas, municipal and barangay officials, beach volleyball tournament manager Reylin Verayo and Provincial Sports Office (PSO) staff Mr. Fred Dizon, and the participation of different cities and municipalities in the south, the ABANSE NEGRENSE Beach Volleyball Tournament (South Eliminations) was a success.
Following the south eliminations, the ABANSE NEGRENSE Beach Volleyball Tournament will proceed with its Northern District eliminations in San Carlos City on Nov. 19-20, 2022.
This beach volleyball tournament, along with the other ABANSE NEGRENSE sports events for the last quarter of 2022, is part of the grassroots sports development programs of Negros Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose V. Lacson in partnership with the Provincial Sports Office.
