BACOLOD CITY, Negros Occidental, Philippines – Police brought a suspected carnapper to an inquest proceeding today after he was caught for allegedly trying to steal a car with the owner’s wife in it.
Station 8 chief, Major Joery Puerto told DNX the suspected car thief, Dixter Estimado was brought to a prosecutor to face inquest proceedings after he was caught Sunday night, 25 September 2022, for trying to steal the car of Rogemel Aurelio, a resident here.
Police said Aurelio stopped along the national highway in Tangub village to refill his car’s radiator tank but left the driver’s side door unlocked and the car key still in the ignition switch.
Estimado, seeing the opportunity, entered the car and drove it away with Aurelio’s wife, Riche, still in the front passenger seat.
She later jumped off the speeding car and called Police Station 8 for help.
Puerto said they raised a flash alarm that led to him being pulled over by enforcers in front of ACCCO Housing in Alijis village where Estimado was mobbed by bystanders when he stepped out of the car.
