BACOLOD CITY, Negros Occidental, Philippines – A man died during a fist fight with his neighbor after they allegedly had an argument triggered by annoyance in La Carlota City yesterday, police said.
City police chief, Lieutenant Colonel Lowell Garinganao, told DNX that the suspect, Ralph John “Totox” Molinos, 23, was mischievous by nature and he only initially verbally bothered the victim.
The victim, Vicente Pingoy, Jr., 43, reportedly got annoyed by the suspect, leading to them to have an argument which was followed by a fist fight.
Police report said Pingoy fainted during the fight and was immediately brought to the hospital but was declared dead on arrival.
Initial investigation revealed that the cause of death was internal bleeding.
Meanwhile, Molinos surrendered to the police accompanied by his family.
Garinganao said the two did not have any history of showing hostilility towards each other and the incident was only caused by a misunderstanding.
Both were from Gan Subdivision, Village (Barangay) 2, La Carlota City.
Garinganao added that Pingoy’s family was not planning to file a case against Molinos and only appealed to the suspect’s family to fund their funeral costs.
