Drug bust nets 13.6M-worth of suspected shabu in San Carlos City

BACOLOD CITY, Negros Occidental, Philippines – Joint anti-drug operatives seized suspected meth worth P13.6 million in a buy-bust operation in the same place where agents also nabbed P1 million worth of drugs early this year.

The bust in Sitio Tul-ang, Rizal village today, 14 June 2022, led to the arrest of Rex Villamin Baron, 49.

Combined elements of the local police led by Lieutenant Colonel Jesus Mesajon Jr. and the regional and provincial Drug Enforcement Units, and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency conducted the operation that led to the seizure of at least two kilos of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu also known as the poor man’s cocaine.

The suspect is now detained at the San Carlos City Police Office.

Tul-ang is the same place where agents also arrested a suspected top drug personality, Cesar Pasigay, and seized at least P1 million in suspected shabu in January 2022.
