BACOLOD CITY, Negros Occidental, Philippines – Policemen of Sagay City went halfway across the island on a more than 200-kilometer chase to nab a man wanted for 28 counts of rape.
The operation led by the Sagay police headed by its chief Lt Col Albert Sy, was joined by mobile force police and the intelligence unit of the Coast Guard, who arrested Ruel Cabahug Canlas, 44, in Dumaguete City, Oriental Negros.
Canlas, a villager of Poblacion 2 in Sagay, a city around 80 kilometers north of here, was ordered arrested by Branch Regional Trial Court Branch 73 Judge Reginald Fuentebella for 28 counts of rape.
Police chief, Lt. Col. Albert Sy said the victim is a minor.
He did not give additional details.
