BACOLOD CITY, Negros Occidental, Philippines – A staff of the provincial government here was tested positive for COVID19, the second infected by the same source over two weeks.
As the city faces COVID community transmission, the latest case today, 29 July, is a woman Capitol employee who lives here and was infected by a relative who she brought to the hospital Friday last week.
The relative in turn, was infected by a patient who was one of the first community-infected case last week.
Capitol spokesperson Charina Tan told DNX the employee’s RT-PCR test results came out just this morning after she was swabbed last night.
Tan added the employee brought her relative to the hospital using her car before the relative’s test results came out.
Physician Grace Tan, spokesperson of the local inter-agency task force, told DNX the Capitol employee is officially Patient 153 of this city as she lives here.
NO CAPITOL LOCKDOWN
Capitol’s Tan said Capitol will not go on a lockdown but the office where the staff is assigned will be disinfected as part of bio-safety measures.
The employee had not reported to work since Monday and would possibly be brought to a medical facility.
