BACOLOD CITY, Negros Occidental, Philippines – Police have identified the woman, a prostitute, whose body was dumped possibly last night and found early morning today, 8 September 2022, near the busy Carlos Hilado Highway here.
Police Captain Elmer Bonilla, chief of Station 7, said the family of Lilia (not her real name) positively identified her today after the local press reported the discovery of the body by residents of Progreso, a community in Alijis village.
DNX is withholding the real name of the victim to protect her and her family’s privacy.
Bonilla said Lilia, 26, does not live in Alijis and works as a prostitute at the Goldenfields Commercial Complex, a popular nightspot here frequented by mostly women commercial sex workers and pimps.
The initial police probe showed Lilia had a customer last night, according to the victim’s lover who could have been told by the pimp, Bonilla said.
Forensic experts will do a post mortem examination of the body to know the cause of death and the possible murder weapon.
The initial report said the body had a bloodied face, a broken nose, and a bruise on the right cheek.
