BACOLOD CITY – Mayor Evelio Leonardia said he trusts former councilor Em Ang’s track record and performance as a local legislator as she replaces lawyer John Orola as city administrator.
In a 1 February letter to Leinardia, Orola said while the job of a city administrator is fulfilling, he would like to focus more in helping the administration in his private capacity in promoting tourism, housing investments, and job generation.
Leonardia officially accepted Orola’s resignation yesterday, thanking him for his dedicated service to the city for the past three years.
Ang thanked the mayor that he has given her the challenge of managing the affairs of the city through the administrator’s office.
“I hope to be working together with the department heads and other workers in government to make Bacolod if not the greatest, one of the greatest city in the Philippines,” Ang said.
As the new city administrator, Ang said she will address the issues on markets and will review the platform of local government.
The city mayor, meanwhile, said Orola will be appointed as city consultant for trade industry, tourism and other special concerns.
“We feel that his expertise and experience in his fields can still be of great value to the administration. We are working to process his appointment and we will do that in the soonest possible time,” Leonardia added.
