BACOLOD CITY – The chief executive here has an unsolicited advice that also comes as a warning to each of the two to four village officials linked to illegal drugs.
“Run for your life.”
Mayor Evelio Leonardia made the warning on the day the city police spokesman disclosed that two to four barangay officials have been linked to illegal drugs based on information volunteered by the community in various villages here.
Leonardia said he has no idea who these village officers are, but he requested the police to give him a copy of the list of the that includes their names.
“We don’t know who they are. The drug war is still there, so how we wish the authorities will give us a copy of that list,” Leonardia said.
The mayor said he would like to get a copy of the list so the city can make its own assessment.
“We would like to know who these officials are , so we can give them a warning and maybe it is time for them to reform,” the mayor added.
