A check at the area around 10:30am, however, showed there was a non-incident.

The woman, however, who works at the records section of the city police office, told DNX that the suspect, her live-in partner, had visited her several times, convincing her to reconcile with him.

The woman, who asked that her name be withheld, said she broke off from Boy Granada (not his real name) because of his vices.

She did not say if it was women, gambling, alcohol or drugs.

Police Major Ariel Artillero, BCPO chief investigator, said the suspect, whom he did not name, threatened the woman with a supposed grenade placed in his pants’ pockets.

It was just a “grenade” made out of crumpled pieces of paper.

Artillero, however, refused to name the man or disclose details about him amid speculations that he could also be a policeman.
