This was how Bacolod Mayor Evelio Leonardia described the supposed “neutrality” of Bacolod Cong. Greg Gasataya.
“We no longer believe the declaration of neutrality of Gasataya and believe it is sham,” Leonardia said.
The mayor referred to the declaration of the congressman who earlier said that he is neutral when it comes to local party affiliation.
Gasataya had been allied with the local administration party Grupo Progreso. He is also seen as a close friend of former third district Cong. Alfredo Abelardo Benitez, who has challenged Leonardia’s candidacy for mayor.
He had declared neutrality upon filing of his COC, saying he respect both Benitez and Leonardia.
Gasataya could not be reached for comment as of this time.
