BACOLOD CITY, Negros Occidental, Philippines – The city has only two positive cases of coronavirus disease (Covid-19) recorded today, said City Administrator Em Ang.
Ang announced Tuesday, October 27 that only one case has been recorded as new because the other was a repeat or confirmatory swab test.
The city administrator said that this was the lowest daily record of Bacolod since July 16.
“We are definitely on track to significantly reduce the case count versus last month,” she said.
Ang reminded the public that the key to defeat Covid-19 is to continue wearing masks, washing hands, practicing physical distancing and avoiding crowds.
Meanwhile, President Rodrigo Duterte, in a recorded public address today, placed the city of Bacolod as among those recommended for a General Community Quarantine for the month of November.
Earlier this month, City Mayor Evelio Leonardia said he sought to de-escalate the quarantine status to MGCQ, the lowest quarantine level before transitioning to the new normal.
