With three more days to go before the Pink People’s Rally of Vice President Leni Robredo and her team, thousands of volunteers have been mobilized to make sure the event goes smoothly.
Laban Leni Negros Occidental (LLNO), tasked to handle the grand rally at the Paglaum Stadium on Friday, March 11, said “it’s all systems go” and tens of thousands of Robredo supporters from all towns and cities in the province are preparing as well to troop to Bacolod “to send a message that Negros Occidental is pink.”
LLNO spokesperson, Atty. Pinky Ocampo said the volunteer spirit is “overwhelming as supporters out-of-town are organizing free rides for fellow Kakampinks.”
She also said that a long list of volunteer celebrity performers have signed up to join the rally. “Rivermaya is definitely coming as they themselves announced it publicly,” Ocampo said, adding that they will release the list of all performers before Friday.
“But definitely, among them are celebrities who trace their origins to Negros Occidental,” she said, adding that Negros Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson “will definitely be there.”
Meanwhile, Ocampo reiterated the call to the commuting public to avoid the area around Paglaum Stadium as “Lacson and Hernaez streets around the Cyber Center will be closed to the public the whole day until the event is over.”
LLNO also issued an advisory that only posters and streamers of Robredo, vice-presidential running-mate, Sen. Kiko Pangilinan and their official senatorial slate will be allowed in the venue. “Local candidates’ posters and other paraphernalias will not be allowed inside the complex.”Ocampo said that they will make official announcements and reminders in their Facebook page Pink Grand Rally Negros Occidental and asked the public to check the site for accurate information.
