BACOLOD CITY, Negros Occidental, Philippines – Violators of the amended City Ordinance (CO) 926 will be penalized with eight-hour community service or with a fine of P200 while non-residents will be fined P300 for violating the said ordinance.
This after the city has required the mandatory use of face shields in public places after the council approved the amended ordinance yesterday, 28 October.
Councilor Archie Baribar, author of the ordinance, said that face shields should be used mandatorily while in public places, public transportation or vehicle, and all enclosed offices and establishments doing business and services.
CO 926, also known as the “Face Mask and Social Distancing Ordinance of Bacolod City” has been amended to include the mandatory use of face shields in public places.
A citation ticket will be issued to violators who will not comply with the ordinance and to those who will not observe social distancing.
The councilor said that there will be an initial appropriation of P200,000 for the printing of the citation tickets and for other administrative expenses.
Vice Mayor El Cid Familiaran said the Task Force Disiplina will take charge in implementing the said ordinance.
