Troopers in Budlasan clash awarded for “job well done”

BACOLOD CITY, Negros Occidental, Philippines –Thirty-one troopers belonging to the 62nd Infantry Battalion received yesterday Military Merit Medals as the Philippine Army recognized their efforts against rebels in an encounter that happened last 26 July 22.

The 3rd Infantry Brigade, through its Commanding Officer Major Gen. Benedict Arevalo lauded the soldiers who clashed against suspected members of the New People’s Army in the subvillage of Natuling, Budlasan village, Canlaon.

The incident led three rebels dead, an an ammo haul, and seizure of subversive documents.

Arevalo congratulated the 303rd Infantry Brigade and the 62nd Infantry Battalion for “a job well done”.

He said he will never grow tired giving awards to soldiers and personnel who deserve it.
