BACOLOD CITY, Philippines – Vice-Mayor El Cid Familiaran heaved a sigh of relief today as two more patients were discharged from a government-run hospital.
For now.
Familiaran, chair of the local nCoV task force, said health authorities discharged the 12-year-old boy who is not from Bacolod, and the 59-year-old woman, both with travel history to territories of China, after they tested negative for the nCoronavirus.
Last week, a Canadian was also discharged after he also tested negative for the virus.
The three were confined in the negative pressure isolation rooms of the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital.
As of 8 February, no new patients were admitted in hospitals here.
Five still remain confined in various hospitals in the city. Three are city residents while two are from other parts of Negros Occidental.
The local task force said all remain “stable” while health officials await their laboratory results.
