BACOLOD CITY, Negros Occidental, Philippines – The Army’s 62nd Infantry Battalion said it has saved the life of a suspected member of the New People’s Army who was wounded in combat in an upland village of Isabela town on a Wednesday two weeks ago.
The 3rd Infantry Division identified the wounded rebel now recovering in a hospital as Roberto Anceno, aged 23, a resident of Isabela town.
The 3rd ID said Anceno was one of the suspected rebel who was with Virgilio Tamban alyas alias Bedam, the commanding officer of Platoon Lenovo under the Leonardo Panaligan of the Command New People’s Army who was killed on the same day along with a member of the rebels’ regional strike force.
The 62nd IB facilitated the extraction of Anceno from the encounter site in Amin.
