BACOLOD CITY, Negros Occidental, Philippines – San Carlos City police Chief Lieutenant Jesus Mesahon Jr said they have placed 10 office employees of a mineral water firm as persons of interest after a robbery happened over the weekend.
Mesahon said the building was not secured with closed-circuit televisions or CCTVs, which was why police are yet to identify the suspects.
No security guard is on duty every Saturday evening and Sunday either.
He said the suspects used a saw to break the lock and ran away with the P300,000 cash inside the vault.
Police are still probing employees over the robbery.
Though the police could not conclude that the incident was an inside job, they are also trying to determine how the suspects knew about the absence of CCTV cameras, or where the vault was kept.
The firm delivers bottled water in the neighboring towns and cities of San Carlos, 83 kilometers north of Bacolod.
