BACOLOD CITY, Negros Occidental, Philippines – City Hall will start repairs on the three major public markets here by next month, a ranking executive said.
Bacolod City Administrator Edward Joseph Cuansing told DNX the Central South and North markets will all undergo rehabilitation and repairs this year, each getting P50 million sourced from the national government.
Cuansing added Mayor Evelio Leonardia wants to start the projects soon.
He is hoping that the implementation of this project will be in early February of this year. The expected period of completion is one and a half year or 18 months.
He added that after the repair, they will still have same tenants and market vendors except to those who did not comply with the previous rules and regulations.
These stalls have been declared as up for bidding.
