NGCP trip off cause blackouts in 10 towns, cities

BACOLOD CITY, Negros Occidental, Philippines – Ten towns and cities in Negros Island are experiencing blackouts today 6 July 2022 at 12:47 pm as the Negros Grid Corporation of the Philippines activates its protection system to regulate loading of the Amlan-Samboan Submarine Cable.

Areas affected included those covered by Ceneco including those under Substations of Sum-ag, Lag-asan, Burgos, Mt.View, Panaogao, Talisay, and Silay; NOCECO which covers Valladolid, La Carlota, and San Enrique Substations; NORECO I which covers Bindoy and Bais Substations, and NORECO II, which covers the Tanjay Substation.

As of today 5:11 pm, the NGCP has not gone online.
