BACOLOD CITY – Mayor Evelio “Bing” Leonardia said the city of Bacolod is still peaceful despite the recent murders that took place in the metro over the past few weeks.
“I believe Bacolod is still peaceful, but those special isolated cases can happen,” he said when asked about his reaction to the killing of businessman Roberto “Kaishek” Tan.
Leonardia said the police must have a comprehensive investigation on the recent killings so the public will feel safe.
The mayor also believed that if there is a problematic peace and order situation in the city, the business registration will not continue to increase every year.
“Let us not make these special isolated cases be a matter that should spoil the business environment,” he said.
He added there is a substantial decrease of 35 percent in the crime rate of the city.
