Camp Peralta, Jamindan, Capiz – The 603rd Ready Reserve Infantry Battalion, under the leadership of LtCol Gladys L Reyes (RES) MNSA PA, completed the three-day Pre-Mobilization and Assembly Test in Camp Antonio Belo, Barangay Timpas, Panit-an, Capiz on October 22, 2023.

The Pre-Mobilization and Assembly Test is designed to intensify the unit’s readiness in performing its various missions to support the Philippine Army.

During the exercise, the Battalion underwent several modules to capacitate and enhance their skills on war fighting and Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Response Operations (HADR), Map Reading, Weapons, Basic Life Support and First Aid, and Immediate Action Drill (IAD).

The exercise was facilitated by the 6th Community Defense Center, 6th Regional Community Defense Group (6RCDG), Reserve Command, Philippine Army and the 3rd Division Training School (3DTS).

The event culminated with a closing ceremony presided over by Col. Lennon G Babilonia, Assistant Division Commander for Reservist and Retiree Affairs (ADCRRA) of the Army’s 3rd Infantry (Spearhead) Division.

Col. Babilonia commended the RRIBn not only for their continuous training for HADR and war but, more importantly, because of their invaluable support to the campaign of the 3ID in ending the insurgency in Western Visayas.

“The reserve corps provides a base for the expansion of the AFP in the event of war, invasion and rebellion or during disasters and emergencies. This assembly test aims to account for and determine the physical well-being of the reservists and assess their readiness when the call of duty arises,” Col Babilonia said.

“As part of their military training, the Army reservists engage in mobilization exercises to ensure they function well in times of need. These exercises will also equip them with essential training and updates on the current thrusts and programs of the command and the AFP in general. We recognize the indispensable role of the reservist not only in support of the Philippine Army’s mission but most importantly, on their invaluable contributions to nation building,” he added.
