BACOLOD CITY, Negros Occidental, Philippines – Himamaylan has literally lit up, with City Hall brightening up with gaily-colored lights over the weekend, 5 December 2020, at 6 p.m.
Himamaylan is one of the first LGU to light up this year.
Mayor Raymund Tongson, in his official Facebook page, said that the City Hall Lights On ceremony is just one of the first in a series of lighting ceremonies of the city.
Others would be over the Old Talaban Bridge, and the Public Plaza.
The lighting ceremony officially ushered in the Christmas season in Himamaylan, and drew in crowds of people, as well as concerns for the lack of social distancing.
The skyline of Himamaylan was filled with lights of different colors, with the fountain area, railings, and the building itself festooned and exploding with lights.
The Lights On ceremony coincided with the summit of the Philippine Councilors League with Gov. Eugenio Jose Lacson as the guest of honor.
PCL-Negros Occidental is headed by Board Member Ryan Gamboa.
