BACOLOD CITY, Negros Occidental, Philippines – Police nabbed three housewives and three jobless men in two separate operations in two villages in the neighboring city of Talisay yesterday, 4 November 2021.
The first operation around 3pm in the village of Zone 12A led to the arrest of three “jobless” men – Ricky Pueblo Buatag, 59; Bernardo Bionat Francisco, 60; and Raymundo Pueblo Ablig, 56.
Police alleged they were playing the popular card game tong-its and were betting on its results.
The operatives seized at least P500 in bet money.
Meanwhile, an hour later over at Village Zone 7, police also arrested three housewives for playing a “bet game.”
The suspects were Salvacion Villan Cardenas, 46; Christie Basister Miran, 40; and Gladey Balquero Dela Cruz, 54.
Police Lt. Marion Buenaflor led both operations supervised by Major Jigger C Gimeno who will charge the suspects for violation of Presidential Decree 1602 or the law that punishes illegal gambling.
