Local police chief, Col. Henry Binas told DNX initial reports indicated witnesses heard seven gunshots and saw two armed assailants shoot Gerald Cuadra who died on the spot.

No other details are available, Binas said as operatives of Police Station 2 start the probe of the crime.

The restaurant is located along BS Aquino Drive, a busy thoroughfare lined by businesses, restaurants, a major college, and a private hospital.

The slay of Cuadra is the fifth public and violent killing here since late last year, starting with confessed drug bagman Ricky Serenio in 2019 September followed by businessman Kaishek Tan, former police officer Eric Alcosaba, and former cager and barangay chief Maui Huelar.

All were killed on busy streets and four, Serenio, Alcosaba, Huelar, and Cuadra were shot almost at the same time, around 3pm.

The police had earlier charged the younger Cuadra for illegal possession of firearms and possession of prohibited drugs in 2016 May.
