BACOLOD CITY, Negros Occidental, Philippines – Seven persons are now isolated here in different hospitals for showing flu-like symptoms that could indicate infection with the COVID19 disease.
As this urban center of half a million people goes on its second week under a general community quarantine, the Bacolod Inter-Agency Task Force (BIATF) on the COVID19 reported new figures late night yesterday.
The running total of Persons Under Investigation or PUIs is 25 since 2020 February, of which 18 have already been discharged from the hospital.
This leaves seven PUIs now in isolation in different medical facilities here, BIATF spokesperson Grace Tan told DNX.
The confined PUIs are all Filipinos.
Five are male, two are female.
The newest admission is a 28-year-old male who has travelled to the US and Metro Manila.
The lone confirmed case so far is the 56-year-old who travelled to England.
Mayor Evelio Leonardia yesterday said Patient One is in “total isolation” and is recovering as told to him by the health officer here.
Tan added five of the PUIs travelled d to Manila, Quezon City, and Dumaguete while two were exposed to Patient One.
All are in stable condition and are awaiting their lab results. (READ: Hunt for Patient One contacts intensify: Dragnet cast over Bacolod City as local testing center waits for DOH approval)
