Tomorrow, a general curfew from 10pm to 4am will be in effect over the province’s 12 cities and 19 towns.

Minors, on the other hand, will have a 24-hour curfew or will not be allowed to go out of their homes.

Provincial Administrator Rayfrando Diaz told DNX the curfew will precede the shutting down of borders next week, a step that might be conducted simultaneously with Oriental Negros though the province has yet to talk to Gov. Roel Degamo.

“A community quarantine will be in effect starting Monday next week,” Diaz said.

Vice-Governor Jeffrey Ferrer, on the other hand, said the province has to ensure first that food supply for the two-week closure will be enough to meet the needs of close to an estimated 600,000 households in the province, according to 2015 census of the PSA.

Diaz, asked by DNX, said they are making sure this will be met.

  1. Kindly explain what a lock down entails as people are panicking with the notion that supermarkets, grocery stores and markets will be closed as well for two weeks.

  2. I just want to correct the number of towns and cities in the province of Negros Occ.
    It’s not 19 towns and 12 cities, rather it’s 18 towns and 13 cities. Please re-check.
    Thanks

  3. Not necesdarily that all establishment will close. The open grocery store like mall pharnacy and drug stores for important to buy medicines in case of emergency for all of us particularly for the children and senior cetizens and also the market place selected bigasan ng bayan which is very important needs for the family consumption. No panic buying can be seen to the people. Observe social distancing everytime you go out in your house. Always bring with you face mask, or handkerchief to protect your mouth, hand sanitizer or alcohol.

  4. You’re telling us that we’re on lockdown but still continue receiving people from different parts of the country which are positive with the virus. We were free from the virus in Bacolod City before but now we’re not cause the government here didn’t take action sooner with the lockdown. Proper hygiene Kag pangamuyo kamo tanan. God Bless you all. Pero ang pangamuyo dal-an taman sang Gawa. There’s a saying that goes “Nasa tao ang gawa, nasa Diyos ang awa.”

  5. Jeepneys and Tricycles are still available for the next two weeks? Do we need to have a quarantine pass to go to the grocery, pharmacy and market etc?

  6. To my Lovely Government. STOP TALKING and ACTION It. and for those who violates.

Here is my suggestion the same here abroad.

Violators will be punished with a php 10,000 fine and for those who cant pay put them on jail for one year.

    end of story.

    • Yes Action on it. But make it accessible that everyone can get what they need. In that 2 weeks. Not everyone has space. And time. or money to stock up on food or medicine for two weeks. U need to open your eyes. And get your head out of your arse. If u think it as easy as that.

  7. My girlfriend lives in bayawan all my prayers go out to the people of Negros Oriental and Occidental may God be with you and bless you

  8. If we will be lock down, it is possible that the aid of 5k for as social media info will be implented immediately, correct me if I’m wrong. Because as for now as we in the middle class life style is worrying to much for our family daily needs, because for now they’re jobless.

  9. Will this border lockdown allow trucking/logistics company to cross negros island? Negros is located between Panay and Cebu. Goods mostly food stuffs and pharmaceuticals coming from Luzon for delivery to Negros, Cebu and Mindanao passes thru Panay and Negros using the Western Nautical Highway. What is the protocol on this? Is logistics and supply chain considered during their meeting?
